The house that we now call Buckland House is not the original, the original Buckland house stood near Buckland Bridge and can be seen in the background of the image below, this house was renamed "Buckland Bridge House" when the new "Buckland House" was built circa 1823.
Buckland House built for Thomas Horn (Buckland Paper Mill owner) circa 1823.
You may think that this was always the Mill Managers House before it was more latterly used as offices, research shows that many others have lived in the house. A listing of those that I have found evidence of living in the house are shown below.

- 1906 - 1910 - Mr C.J Noble
- 1913 - Miss mary Greaves Fielding Dies
- 1913 - Mr H Hobday, Mr L Hobday
- 1936 - 1947 first reference of Mr J.D. Gordon living at Buckland House (Accident of 11 year old Albert Gordon)
- 1947 application for conversion to 3 self contained flat
- 1948 Application to convert to two houses
- I am unsure if either of these two applications materialised into anything, however after this time Buckland House was used as offices for Buckland Paper Mill
